Halloween is a teenage girl's trick or treat. Some may have glamorous plans on going out with friends and attending social events, while some are looking forward to watching Micheal Myers aggressively slash someone to death with a big bowl of candy, I mean, I know I did.

Halloween this year is looking to be the “it-girl” with costumes getting even more and more creative each year. This year’s top costumes seemed to be inspired by this year's most popular trends and media. Examples being Marvels “Deadpool And Wolverine,” Greta Gerwig's “Barbie” and the most “unusual” some are calling it, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. This older costume may be in reference to Netflix’s newest DCC documentary. Memes and entertainment have also made their way into Halloween this year, with looks of Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift from their blockbuster concert tours “The Eras Tour” and “Short & Sweet” being notable costumes for teens and younger girls alike. The infamous “Raygun” from this year's Summer Olympics is also one of the more funnier options girls are choosing to wear. From the looks of it, this halloween has come out to look like one of the most iconic yet. According to Teen Vogue, this year’s most popular costumes were Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and a halloween classic, Cher Howrwitz from “Clueless.

Some girls might not dress up and go out for social events on Halloween night and that’s when our favorite streaming services come into play. Titles such as Micheal Myers franchise of “Halloween.” This year itself had more than 20%  streaming rates compared to last year. The spike of girls staying in for Halloween can be because of one major reason: insecurity of age. According to statistics, the tradition of trick or treating often stops at the age of sixteen, However, that doesn’t stop many. In fact, this year alone, more teenagers and adults in their early 20’s went out trick or treating compared to the usual demographic of younger elementary-middle school children.

So, there you have it! Halloween 2024 was filled with creative costumes and an overall spike of streaming the “Halloween” franchise. Whether you were the girl who dressed up and went out with friends for Halloween or the girl like me who stayed home with a bag of candy, It’s evident to say that for teenage girls, Halloween 2024 was a success! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a craving for my plethora of treats from Halloween 2024.
